Users who want to search using Assembly but don’t want Assembly to takeover their new tab screen can easily deactivate the new tab screen to return to their default experience, or even to replace our new tab screen with a different new tab screen.

Turning off the Assembly new tab screen will allow you to reassess your browser’s default new tab page or you can add a custom URL to set your new tab as any page you want.

Turning Off the Assembly New Tab Screen

1. Open a new tab in your browser

2. At the top right, find the Settings gear icon and click it to open the preferences menu

3. Find the New tab experience section in the preferences menu and click on the dropdown menu

4. Select “Show my default browser home page”
