Configure your Assembly’s recognition settings based on your team’s needs. This help article explains how to configure recognition settings. Once configured, you can give recognition in Assembly, Slack or MS Teams (if your Assembly is connected to either or both of these chat apps).

Who can use this feature?

Only Admins can configure recognition settings in Assembly.

What to expect
  • Determine how many points your members can give and who can give custom amounts
  • Configure whether members can give recognition privately
  • Set a minimum character count to make recognition messages more meaningful
  • Configure GIF accessibility depending on your company’s comfort level
  • Turn on and set up core values to add to recognition (NOTE: only companies on a paid plan can turn on core values)

Set recognition allowance thresholds

Admins can determine how many points members’ can give when celebrating teammates. This will determine the percentages of their monthly allowance they can give for each celebration. We set these percentages by default, however admins can adjust these percentages at any time:

  1. From my.joinassembly.com, click the Admin icon in the lower left corner of the left navigation bar.
  2. Click Recognition then Settings in the left sidebar.
  3. Adjust the percentages; you can go as low as 0% and as high as 100%
  4. Select who, if anyone, can give a custom amount (any amount of their available balance)
  5. Click the red save button at the bottom right to save your changes.

Enable private recognition

Private recognition will only notify the member(s) who received recognition and display in the feed for the member who gave the recognition, and the member(s) who received. To enable private recognition:

  1. From my.joinassembly.com, click the Admin icon in the lower left corner of the left navigation bar.
  2. Click Recognition then Settings in the left sidebar.
  3. Turn on the private recognition switch.
  4. Select who has permission to give recognition privately. Only admins, senders, and receivers can view private recognition.
  5. Click the red save button at the bottom right to save your changes.

Set minimum character count for recognition messages

Admins can set a minimum character count requirement to make recognition even more meaningful. If enabled, members will not be able to post unless the minimum character count has been met.

  1. From my.joinassembly.com, click the Admin icon in the lower left corner of the left navigation bar.
  2. Click Recognition then Settings in the left sidebar.
  3. Turn on the minimum character count switch and set the minimum character count
  4. Click the red save button at the bottom right to save your changes.

Configure GIF accessibility

GIFs are a great way for members to make recognition even more exciting. Admins can limit the type of GIFs members have access to.

  1. From my.joinassembly.com, click the Admin icon in the lower left corner of the left navigation bar.
  2. Click Recognition then Settings in the left sidebar.
  3. Select the GIF rating.
  4. Click the red save button at the bottom right to save your changes.

Set up and turn on core values

Admins for paid Assembly accounts can set up and turn on core values for recognition.

  1. From my.joinassembly.com, click the Admin icon in the lower left corner of the left navigation bar.
  2. Click Recognition then Settings in the left sidebar.
  3. Turn on the core values switch.
  4. Add core values.

Click the red save button at the bottom right to save your changes.
